SENSOR SYSTEMS / ECS-NCDT

Eddy current displacement & distance sensors

Continuous, non-contact measurement for spindle thermal growth, precision positioning and conductive-target gap metrology.

Define the conditions behind the measurement

01 / CONFIGURATION CHECK

Specify resolution at your required bandwidth. A 0.05 μm resolution requirement is not a statement of absolute accuracy or performance at every sampling rate.

02 / CONFIGURATION CHECK

Confirm shielded or unshielded installation, target thickness and curvature. Nearby metal and adjacent probes can change the calibration.

03 / CONFIGURATION CHECK

For spindle thermal growth, separate sensor drift from machine expansion and define the operating temperature cycle. For semiconductor fixtures, identify the conductive surface actually being measured.

Listed ranges and interfaces are inquiry options. Approved ratings, drawings and calibration data belong to the selected configuration.

Metal grade, thickness and curvature change the curve.

Request factory linearization for AISI 4140 / 42CrMo, aluminum 6061, stainless steel 304 / 316, copper or titanium. Confirm the representative target and calibration conditions in your quote.

Analog inductive distance sensors also exist. Compare the actual measurement principle and performance, rather than the category name alone.

Before you approve the measuring system

Can the same calibration be used on steel and aluminum?

Do not assume so. Specify the material grade, thickness and curvature and agree the calibration curve for your target.

Can a replacement probe be mixed with an existing driver?

Only after the exact probe, electrical length, driver, target and output curve have been qualified together. Connector fit alone is insufficient.

What does a configuration quote include?

Request a matched probe, cable and conditioner, selected mounting accessories, calibration conditions, performance evidence and confirmed price and delivery.

ECS-NCDT / CONFIGURATION REQUEST

Build the probe, cable and conditioner together.

Include a mounting adapter, armored cable or portable calibration fixture in the request below.

Calibrate to the metal you actually measure

Send a representative target or its grade, thickness and curvature. Room-temperature linearization is not proof of hot-zone accuracy. A factory test sheet is distinct from accredited calibration. Ask us to include the calibration scope and any charge in the quotation.

Complete the installation

Optional planning budgets; fit, quantities and final prices are confirmed in your quote.
